HOW TO PLAY:
Download and Install:
Download the GPS Area Measurements app from the Google Play Store for Android or the App Store for iPhone. Install the app and open it to begin using the GPS measurement features.
Select Measurement Mode:
The app typically offers several measurement options:
Area Measurement: To calculate the area of a specific location by walking or selecting points on the map.
Distance Measurement: To measure the distance between two or more points.
Perimeter Measurement: To calculate the boundary length around a defined area.
Input Points:
Walking Method: If you are physically at the location, you can walk or drive around the area, and the app will use your GPS position to track your path and automatically calculate the area or perimeter.
Manual Selection: If you are not physically present, you can select points on the app’s map interface to outline the area you want to measure. Tap on each corner or boundary point to create an accurate shape.
Calculate the Area/Distance:
Once you’ve completed mapping out the area or distance by placing points, the app will automatically calculate the total area or distance between the points. Results are typically displayed in units such as square meters, acres, kilometers, or miles, depending on your preferences.
Choose Measurement Units:
The app allows you to select different units of measurement. You can toggle between square meters, acres, hectares, and other units to suit your needs. This is especially useful for users in agriculture, real estate, or construction.
Save or Export Results:
After completing your measurements, you can save the data for future reference. The app usually includes options to export the results as a file (such as CSV or PDF) or share them via email, messaging apps, or cloud storage.
View Map Types:
The app offers multiple map views, such as satellite, terrain, or standard map view, to help you better visualize the area. This feature is particularly helpful for understanding terrain conditions or visualizing property boundaries.
Use Waypoints (Optional):
For more precise measurements, you can use waypoints. These are specific GPS coordinates that you manually place on the map, ensuring the measurement is accurate even in large or irregularly shaped areas.
Measure Multiple Areas:
Some versions of GPS Area Measurements allow you to measure multiple areas or distances simultaneously. This feature is useful if you are comparing different plots of land or measuring sections of a larger area.
Use Offline (If Available):
Some versions of the app support offline usage. You can download maps in advance and perform measurements without an active internet connection, making it useful for remote locations.
Stay Updated:
Regularly update the GPS Area Measurements app to ensure access to new features, improved accuracy, and the latest maps.
