Each tile represents different forest types, terrains, and seasonal changes that will affect how your forest grows. Place your starting pieces on the board and prepare your resources. Select Your Forest Guardian: Choose a forest guardian, each with unique abilities that will help shape your strategy. These abilities can influence the growth of trees, provide extra resources, or alter the environment in your favor. Plant and Grow Trees: In Evergreen, your goal is to plant and grow trees that thrive in the different environments of the board. Each tree species has specific growth requirements based on soil type, water, and sunlight. Use the resources at your disposal to strategically plant trees and maximize their growth. Manage Seasons: The game unfolds across different seasons, each bringing its own challenges and opportunities. Seasons change the environmental conditions on the board, affecting which types of trees can grow and how resources are distributed. Adapt your strategy to the changing environment and make the most of each season. Expand Your Forest: Throughout the game, you’ll have opportunities to expand your forest by planting trees in adjacent areas. This requires careful planning, as the location of your trees and their compatibility with the terrain will affect how successfully they grow. Earn Victory Points: As you progress, you’ll earn victory points based on the size and health of your forest, as well as your ability to optimize tree placement and resource management. The more trees you have growing successfully, the higher your score will climb. Interact with Other Players: Evergreen includes multiplayer elements, allowing you to compete against friends or AI in strategic matches. You’ll need to carefully consider both your own forest’s needs and how your moves affect the others around you. Endgame and Scoring: The game ends after a set number of rounds or when certain conditions are met. Once the game concludes, players tally up their points based on the trees they’ve grown, the terrain they’ve nurtured, and the bonus objectives they've achieved. The player with the highest score wins the title of Master Forest Guardian.
