Deferit: Pay Bills in 4 App User Guide
Welcome to the Deferit app! This guide will help you navigate the app and utilize its features to manage and pay your bills with ease, all while building your credit history.
Getting Started
Download and Install: Download the Deferit app from your device’s app store.
Sign In or Register:
If you’re new to Deferit, create an account by providing your basic information and setting up a secure password.
If you already have an account, sign in using your email and password.
Uploading and Splitting Bills
Upload a Bill:
On the home screen, tap the "Upload a Bill" button.
You can upload a bill by taking a photo, uploading a screenshot, or adding a file directly from your device.
Ensure that all details of the bill are clear and visible.
Select the Payment Amount:
After uploading the bill, choose the amount you want Deferit to pay on your behalf.
Deferit will pay the full amount to the biller upfront.
Pay in 4 Installments:
Once Deferit pays the bill, you will repay the amount in four equal installments.
The app will automatically set up the installment plan, and you can view the payment schedule in the "My Payments" section.
Manage Your Payments:
You can move payments around to suit your budget by accessing the "Manage Payments" option. This flexibility helps you stay on top of your bills without the stress of missed payments.
Saving Money on Your Bills
Bill Savings Service:
Deferit offers a service to help you save money on recurring bills like internet, phone, and TV.
To use this service, go to the "Bill Savings" section, upload your bill, and Deferit’s team of experts will negotiate with your biller.
If they succeed in saving you money, the savings will be applied, and you’ll only pay for the service if it’s successful.
Building Your Credit History
Credit Reporting:
Every time you pay a bill through Deferit, the app reports your payment to the three major credit bureaus.
To view your credit-building progress, go to the "Credit Builder" section in the app.
Monitor Your Credit:
Regularly check your progress in building your credit score. This feature helps you improve your creditworthiness, which can lead to better loan rates and financial opportunities.
Managing Your Account
View and Download Payment History:
Access your payment history in the "My Payments" section to keep track of all your transactions.
You can download statements or receipts directly from the app.
Update Personal Information:
To update your contact details, billing information, or payment methods, go to "Settings" and make the necessary changes.
Customer Support:
If you need assistance, tap on "Support" in the app to access FAQs, contact customer service, or submit a support request.
Understanding Fees and Membership
Monthly Membership Fee:
Deferit charges a monthly membership fee of $14.99, which allows you to access all features, including bill splitting and credit reporting.
Processing Fee:
Each payment installment is subject to a processing fee of $0.99.
