ClearScore - Credit Score App User Guide
Welcome to the ClearScore - Credit Score app! This guide will help you navigate the app and make the most of its features, enabling you to take control of your financial health.
Getting Started
Download and Install: Download the ClearScore app from your device’s app store.
Sign Up or Log In:
If you’re new to ClearScore, select “Sign Up” and enter your personal details to match your TransUnion credit file. You’ll need to answer a few security questions to verify your identity.
If you already have an account, simply log in with your email and password.
Home Screen Overview
Once logged in, the home screen provides a snapshot of your credit score, offers, and recent activity. Here’s what you can do:
View Credit Score: Your current credit score is displayed prominently on the home screen.
Explore Offers: Tailored offers for credit cards, loans, and other financial products are shown based on your credit profile.
Alerts and Notifications: See important alerts about changes to your credit report or updates to your offers.
Viewing Your Credit Report
Tap on “Credit Report”: Access your detailed credit report from the home screen.
Review Credit Accounts: View all your credit accounts, including credit cards, loans, and mortgages. Each account includes information about balances, limits, and payment history.
Check Financial Associations: See any financial associations you have with other people, which could impact your credit score.
Search History: Review searches conducted by lenders when you’ve applied for credit.
Improving Your Credit Score
Explore “What’s Affecting Your Score”: This section provides insights into the factors positively or negatively impacting your score.
Fix Errors: If you spot any inaccuracies, take steps to correct them by contacting the relevant lender or credit bureau.
Follow Tips: Use the tips provided to improve your credit score over time.
Exploring Financial Offers
Tap on “Offers”: Find this option on the home screen or in the main menu.
View Tailored Offers: Browse through offers for credit cards, loans, and other products specifically tailored to your financial situation.
Check Eligibility: See how likely you are to be accepted for each offer before applying, which can help you avoid unnecessary credit searches.
Tracking Your Financial History
Use the “Timeline” Tool: Access this tool to view a six-year history of your financial activity.
Review Past Transactions: Scroll through the timeline to see how your finances have evolved, including any changes in credit accounts, payments, and more.
Using ClearScore Protect
Access “Protect”: From the home screen or menu, tap on ClearScore Protect to enable dark web monitoring.
Monitor Dark Web Activity: Every three months, ClearScore will scan the dark web for your information and alert you if any of your details, such as passwords, are found.
Take Action: If you receive an alert, follow the recommended steps to secure your accounts and protect your identity.
Managing Notifications
Configure Push Notifications: Go to the settings menu to manage the notifications you receive. Stay informed about changes to your credit report, new offers, and alerts from ClearScore Protect.
Securing Your Account
Enable Fingerprint or Facial Recognition: For added security, activate fingerprint or facial recognition login in the settings menu.
Change Your Password or Security Questions: Update your password or security questions regularly to keep your account secure.
Logging Out
To log out, tap on your profile icon or the settings menu, and select Log Out. Make sure to log out after each session to ensure your information stays secure.
