Description:
Carcassonne: Tiles & Tactics is a digital adaptation of the classic tile-placement board game Carcassonne, where players build a medieval landscape with cities, roads, fields, and monasteries. Your goal is to strategically place tiles and deploy your followers (also called "meeples") to claim different features on the board in order to score the most points. The game challenges your spatial reasoning and planning as you develop the landscape and compete against other players in a race to dominate the board. As the game progresses, you'll create an ever-expanding map, where every tile placement has the potential to connect features and earn points. It's a perfect blend of simple mechanics and strategic depth, making Carcassonne: Tiles & Tactics a must-play for fans of casual strategy games.
How to play:
Tile Placement: At the start of each turn, you’ll draw a tile and must place it onto the growing board. Each tile has part of a city, road, field, or monastery, and your goal is to match the features on the tile with those already placed on the board. Cities: Complete a city by placing tiles that close it off. Larger cities earn more points. Roads: Create long roads by placing tiles that connect roads across the board. Monasteries: Surround a monastery with tiles to score points. Fields: Fields are created by placing tiles that connect farms. The larger the field, the more points it earns at the end of the game. Meeples Placement: After placing a tile, you can place one of your followers (meeples) on that tile to claim ownership of a feature. Cities: Place a meeple in a city to claim it. Roads: Place a meeple on a road to control it. Monasteries: Place a meeple on a monastery to claim it. Fields: Place a meeple on a field to claim a farm, which will score points at the end of the game. Once a feature is completed (such as a city or road), you score points based on its size and the number of tiles used to complete it. Afterward, your meeple is returned to you, ready for future use. Scoring: Scoring happens when a feature is completed. You score: Cities: 2 points for each tile in the city. Roads: 1 point for each tile in the road. Monasteries: 9 points when surrounded by tiles. Fields: At the end of the game, fields are scored based on the number of completed cities adjacent to them. The more cities near your field, the higher the score. Endgame & Winning: The game ends when all tiles have been placed. After that, remaining incomplete features are scored, and fields are tallied. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. The key to success is planning ahead, making the most of each tile, and strategically placing your meeples to control valuable features. Game Variants: Carcassonne: Tiles & Tactics also includes additional expansions and variants that can be used to modify the gameplay: The River: Adds a new starting tile and additional gameplay options. The Abbot: Adds a new mechanic for scoring monasteries. The Inns & Cathedrals: Offers bonuses for roads and cities. Multiplayer Mode: PvP: Compete against other players online in head-to-head matches. Each game is different based on tile placement, and the race to control features adds an element of competitive tension. Solo Mode: Play against AI opponents and hone your skills in different game scenarios.
